We invite you to a group show at Q Gallery, consisting of artists currently studying together at School of Contextual and Conceptual Practice.

Modeled by an extract from their schools description, the selection of works elaborates on the chains of thought that develop through the possibilities of a collective learning process. For example How those chains might affect our personal reading of our own lived experience. Or Perhaps within the dialogue we construct together, shared methodologies may reveal themselves.

The exhibition documents actions and faculty that record, extract, and recollect narratives formed in conjunction with one and other. Evoking times spent in a dark room, to dinner table dynamics, to the recollection of an olympic themed childhood, or to encounters of a more intimate nature about the loss of control during an emergency cesarean.

“The knowledge we are interested in does not exist beforehand, it is not in the books, but in our reading of books. It happens when the words we read encounter the experiences we remember and gain new meanings. Doing this as a group multiplies the experiences and previous references and forms chains of thought that are impossible to predict or to repeat” – Carla Zaccagnini.
