Press release, May 2023

Ladder space presents Industrious youth by Sara Annsofidotter – an exhibition exploring the centuries-old steel industry located deep in the forests of Sweden, where a young generation is left with the ecological and economic consequences of the eagerness of industrialism.

Centered at the production site of large-scale steel infrastructure, Industrious youth follows two teenage girls aimlessly drifting in the industrial area, parallel to the movements of workers welding a roof construction. Unfolding between the materiality of the steel factory and the surrounding environment, the installation echoes the symbiosis of natural resources and economic tracks laid out for new generations.
