You are kindly invited to our next solo show Flowers Burning by artist Bartek Arobal Kociemba at Galleri Overtrappen.
Flowers Burning is a visual and performative attempt channeling anger and frustration through rituals, meditation and beauty. The show consists of a series of drawings of different plants consumed by fire, surrounded by a web of cut-out paper installation evoking the rhythm of fire. A theme which also is echoed in the film, “Atonan dancing” created together with Barbara Kai Kaniewska and Mads Hemmingsen.

Bartek Arobal Kociemba is a self-taught polish visual artist and illustrator based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 2005 he has illustrated for various institutions, magazines, theaters, music labels etc. His work revolve around the subjects of liminality, symbolism and queerness, and explores parallel universes in terms of mythology and human emotions. Since 2009 he has been teaching meditation and spirituality, manifested in both secular, Buddhist and queer contexts. In 2020 together with Polish artist Magda Buczek he started an artist-run space and gallery called VI LEVER PA POLSK.
All together the drawings and video-piece becomes a total-installation, which also acts as a scenography for the performance ritual “Beyond Enemy”, on Friday 19.00, and the meditation piece “Fire Meditation”, on Sunday 14.00. The exhibition invites you to become part of a collective healing process and conversations about contradicting emotions through art and collective performative practices.
