Professors – The Saga
Chapter one: Mikkel Carl “Only Capital Takes Pleasure”

KOLD is reopening with a three-part exhibition showing the three current professors at Funen Art Academy, one at a time, carrying the title "Professors - The Saga". The first chapter of The Saga is showing Mikkel Carl’s exhibition “Only Capital Takes Pleasure”. MC has a BA in History of Ideas from Aarhus University and an MFA in visual arts from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He is prorector and associate professor of Visual Arts and Exhibition Practice at the Funen Art Academy.

Opening: Thursday the 7th of September, 16-18.
Exhibition period: September 7-11, 2023.
Opening hours: Everyday: 10am - 3pm.

KOLD is an independent artist-run exhibition platform located inside a deep freezer at Funen Art Academy. By situating itself outside of traditional gallery spaces, KOLD is creating a platform for artists to experiment with the limitations of their practice and the boundaries of the space itself. The ambition for KOLD is to challenge the conventional notions of the relationship between art and space. By being a non-traditional exhibition space, KOLD offers an alternative perspective on the white cube, as everything is seen from above, possibly allowing the viewer a new perspective. An ambition for KOLD is to be an inclusive and safe platform, both for the artists exhibiting and for the viewer.
