f.eks. inviterer til Insiderâs Guide - Speculative Wayfinding in Aalborg af Anthony Carfello (US).
Som en del af en flere ugers geografisk funderet performance anvender projektet forskellige former for navigation og mobilitet til at lede os gennem en alternativ rute pĂ„ tvĂŠrs af Aalborg. Byen bliver her til et casestudie, hvor elementer fra det enogtyvende Ă„rhundredes âgenoplivede byâ gennem Insiderâs Guide isoleres og sammenstilles for at identificere mulige konflikter og uoverensstemmelser. Ved at trĂŠkke pĂ„ de komparative metoder, Carfellos har erfaring med fra sin pĂŠdagogiske praksis i Los Angeles, aktiverer projektet en skiftende tilgang til byen, med udgangspunkt i formater sĂ„som turist rejseplaner, Google Maps og andet brugergenereret indhold. MĂ„let er en gentĂŠnkning af det bebyggede miljĂž og at skabe en ny erfaringsbaseret âgrammatikâ for byen, der beror sig pĂ„ en sporing af forskellige geografiske typologier â fra det banale til det trendy, det kollektive til det eksklusive.
Mens de offentlige events vil vĂŠre forankret i Aalborgs âMini-Manhattanâ boligomrĂ„de, havnefronten ved Streetfood KĂžkkenfabrikken, lokale manifesteringer af global franchise virksomheder, museer ved fjorden mfl., er dette projekt ikke et bidrag til regionens turismeindustri. Insiderâs Guide er et offentligt kunstvĂŠrk, der benytter konventionelle virkemidler i introduktionen af steder â rundvisninger, kort, âmust-seeâ lister og guidebĂžger â til at teste og advokere for en mulig opdatering til den historiske proces med en kritisk og politisk tilgang til byen pĂ„ samme mĂ„de som Situationisternes dĂ©rive. Carfello skaber en optegnelse af Aalborg, der gennem projektet gĂžres tilgĂŠngeligt til brug hvor som helst.

Anthony Carfello har base i det sydlige Californien, hvor han arbejder med undersĂžgelser af, hvordan bygninger, samfund og steder opleves og kontrolleres. Hans praksis har siden 2007 inkorporeret reklamer, arkitektur, kritisk geografi, ejendomsret, ejendomsmarkedet og turisme gennem skriftlige, redaktionelle og kunstneriske bidrag, bĂ„de i og udenfor de institutionelle rammer. Carfello underviser som skriveinstruktĂžr for Temple Universitys Los Angeles-program og er redaktĂžr for tidsskriftet Georgia. Han har modtaget legater fra Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant (med Shoghig Halajian og Suzy Halajian) og Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies i Fine Arts. PĂ„ MAK Center for Art and Architecture i LA - en satellit ved Museum fuÌr angewandte Kunst (MAK) i Wien - har han kurateret udstillinger og drev fra 2009-19 det internationale MAKâSchindler-residency-program. Han har en MFA fra Otis College of Art and Design i LA, en BFA fra School of the Art Institute of Chicago og har studeret ved University of Iowa.
