Open call, July 2023
This could be us, but you’re so hardcore by big feelings club is a two day performance and visual arts festival. It takes place at Basement in Copenhagen on the 13th-14th of September with install and prep on the 11th and the 12th.
You can apply with performances, readings, music, physical artworks, social practice-based projects or other types of work that you see fit. You are welcome to send both new or already finished works, depending on what is sustainable for you and where you are in your life. We encourage you to be mindful of your energy and resources: Giving an ‘old’ work a new context can be a beautiful way to do just that. This open call is for you, if you’re interested in sharing your work and building an exhibition with others.
We as a group of four artists are initiators of the event, but learning from each other as a bigger group, creating something together during the days before the festival is just as important as the festival itself.
Artist fee: We are applying for funding to cover artist fees and for food, so we will be able to cook dinner for the group during the installation days. We are aware of the importance of being paid as a practicing artist, but a consequence of hosting events like this, is the uncertainty about funding and money.
Technical support: Basement provides limited technical support and sound equipment. If your work requires specific technical gear, you have to be able to provide this for yourself. It is important that you’re able to transport your work and potential equipment to Basement on September 11th.
