Seeping, leaking, squirting, bursting. Breaching, drilling, oozing, drowsing.

The exhibition ’your hole is our goal’ is an installation of Madeleine Andersson’s current research into ”Petrosexuality”; a theoretical framework to rethink nonrenewable dependency through a language of pleasure, lust and sexual hierarchies. The term encourages fantasies about the fossil fuel industry as compulsively obsessed with penetration – with any drill or shovel that breaches through the crust.

In Anderssons’s playful practice, elements from research and scientific facts inform her aesthetics. She utilizes known forms and cliche language to create new and critical compositions. In this exhibition this will be evident in a vast amount of archival material and historical events mashed and distorted into perversion. In KH7 Artspace; sculptures, a publication, graphical prints and video will merge to form a visual mapping of her linguistic exploration of the fossil fuel industry and its corresponding petroculture.

Madeleine Andersson (b. 1993) is a Swedish artist who lives and works in Copenhagen, DK. She is currently a Master student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Recent exhibitions include SixtyEight Art Institute DK; Atlantis Luminére, MANIFESTA 13 FR; Nikolaj Kunsthal DK; Ronneby Konsthall SWE; Charlottenborg Kunsthal DK; S.M.A.K BE; Accelerator SWE.

The exhibition is open according to current Covid19 restrictions.
