"Design is too important to be left to designers" is a common saying in creative business, and lately it's been cropping up in non-creative businesses as well. Chief Design Officer is a part of all the large tech companies and designers are busy teaching 'design thinking' to anyone who wants to listen. Report upon report details the economic benefits of design, and 'design' has to be "the connective tissue that extends throughout an entire company".
If 'design' is equated with 'creative thinking', what do we need designers for?
Come by USE Academy, enjoy a cold beer (or a cup of coffee) and discuss the current state of the design industry and education in Denmark – and where they are heading.
The event is a warmup to the official launch of USE Academy on the 6th of April.
About USE Academy
USE Academy is a platform for projects, exhibitions, talks & workshops about the transformative role design and creativity plays in society. It's a platform to share, experiment, research, network, hone skills and create new knowledge. It’s a space where people can get new inspiration and challenge their accustomed notions. It’s part of our mission to make Aarhus the best possible city for designers and creative doers and thinkers. Our events showcase projects and designers from around the world to provide insight into critical work approaches, methods, thoughts and projects that embrace topics of social, cultural, political, economic and environmental nature.
