JAVIER TAPIA "MIDNIGHT VESSEL"

Kunstakademi i København.

MIDNIGHT VESSEL

Midnight is a unique time. Midnight is a time of transition. Midnight is one second. Midnight is neither morning nor night. One second before midnight is not night, and one second after midnight is not morning.

The project “Midnight Vessel” at Den nordiske ambassade in Copenhagen is a project of transition, in which elements from the past are confronted with elements from the present. As in any vessel, the gallery space is assumed as a carrier that contains these ideas to the future, an unknown future indeed.

Documents, publications, items, drawings, photography and objects that contain histories carry out the concrete references of time. For some, these references are full of meaning, and for others are just illustrations of subjects that surrounds our lives. Nevertheless this project aims to create contrasts and links in search of answers, since the concrete items that are here displayed are forming a fractal net of questions for our shared history, which is and has been constantly built from night to day.
