GRUPPEUDSTILLING "THE SWAMP OF LERNA"

  • Warehouse9, København Halmtorvet 11A København, 1700 Denmark (map)
Swamp of Lerna pic.jpg

Pressemeddelelse, september 2019

Andre væsener bor i sumpen.

Fernisering: Torsdag d. 26. september, kl. 19 | Facebook event
Udstillingsperiode: 26. - 30. september 2019
Åbningstider: Fre-søn: kl. 14-18, man: kl. 11-16.

Press Release, September 2019

Dive into the Swamp of Lerna, an exhibition of hybrids beings. The title refers to the myth of the Hydra, a monstrous watersnake, which has been bred in the march of Lerna. As soon as one head is smashed, two grow in its place. The Hydra is elusive and constantly shapeshifting.

In the swamp other creatures dwell.

The presented works resist categories like organic and synthetic and makes it hard to draw lines between human-animal-machine-object. Together the works will create an ecosystem, unfinished and open to elvolve. The works show an engagement with other life but also ask questions to this engagement. Who is looking and at what. Who defines the other. Who is an other. Who are they. What are you.

The exhibition will include sculpture, 3D print, painting and site-specific installation. Works by: Ina Aloisia Ebenberger, Yein Lee, Ivan Pérard, Sebastian Mittl, Sara Krøgholt Trier and Maja Lindberg Schwaner.

Supported by Vesterbro Lokaludvalg.
