Art Room 1000fryd er en eksperimenterende udstillingsplatform på første-etagen i det legendariske kulturhus, 1000fryd, som havde sin officielle åbning i efteråret 2017. Efter et halvt års pause, er rummet med KulturKantens støtte vendt tilbage med et stærkt program for foråret 2019.

De første tre kunstnere, der præsenteres, er Sabine Wedege, Liv Moeslund Ahlgren og Thu Trang Eva Ha, som hver især er parate med nogle spændende udstillingsprojekter for den kommende måned. Der vil løbende blive opdateret med praktiske oplysninger, nye udstillinger og performances på Facebook

Sabine Wedege “Navigate River“
6. - 8. februar

Researching the remains of a replica of the Cheops pyramid and two healing sculptures in northern Denmark – built by one man in his backyard in the 1980s. An ”и” from the Cyrillic alphabet was marked as a crop circle. Connections to the sculptures are showing themselves other places in northern Denmark. This raised several unanswered questions at the Rtanj mountain in eastern Serbia.

Sabine Wedege is studying at the Jutlandic Art Academy in Aarhus and have just returned from a semester abroad at Faculty of Fine Arts in Beograd, Serbia.

Liv Moeslund Ahlgren “Between light and light”
12. - 14. februar

Mellem lys og lys (Between light and light) is a photographic piece that seeks to work against the temporality normally attributed to photography. In photography, a split second is caught and made to last an eternity. Mellem lys og lys is a way to make the temporal relation between the photographed and the photograph much more equal. Mellem lys og lys consists of analogue b/w photographs developed in a way that makes them light sensitive. In this way they will gradually disappear when exhibited. The pictures will become miscolored and dark within half an hour – which is why they are mounted behind dark curtains to slow down this process. The audience will have to move the curtains to the side to see the pictures but thereby also exposing them to light and so taking part in the degeneration of the pictures. When experiencing the piece, one is destroying it – the decay is real and right before one’s eyes.

Mellem lys og lys is a story about getting destroyed by the exact same light that created you.

Liv Moeslund Ahlgren (f. 1994, Aarhus) arbejder primært med analogt fotografi i sort-hvid; derudover også video, glas, byggeskum, keramik og beton. Hun er medstifter af Photographic Plate Project.

Thu Trang Eva Ha
19. - 21. februar

Thu Trang Eva Ha (b. 1993 in Austria) is studying Timebased and Interactive Media at University of Art & Desing in Linz, Austria, and creates interdisciplinary media art, focusing on performances, sound art and virtual reality. By merging several seemingly incompatible worlds into a new universe, she uses a visual vocabulary that addresses many different social and political issues. The work incorporates time as well as space – a fictional and experiential universe that only emerges bit by bit.
